Michael Acey Furniture

This business was set up in Oban in 2014 manufacturing bespoke furniture and fitted interiors for the domestic and commercial market. Since that time Michael has taken on an apprentice who is now 3 years into his training. In 2016 we provided a loan of £15,000 (jointly with the Kilfinan Trust) to assist with the purchase of a new digital saw and other set-up costs. We recently spoke to Michael who advises that the company has gone from strength to strength and sales continue to increase. It was good to learn that the saw had made a great difference to the speed in which they can now produce their products. Michael now has 3 employees, including the apprentice. Most work comes via word of mouth so Michael does not need to spend much on advertising as there is plenty of work coming in, including unusual furniture commissions, in which Michael would like to specialise in the long term.
